Effective date: 10 September 2026

This Copyright and Content Policy explains ownership and permitted use of content available through WriteWave Books at shop.writewaveco.com. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions.

1. Ownership of Website Content

The WriteWave name, logo, Website design, software, original text, graphics, arrangement, catalogue presentation and other materials created by us are owned by or licensed to WRITEWAVE PRIVATE LIMITED. They are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws, including the Copyright Act, 1957.

eBooks, cover artwork, descriptions and related materials may be owned by their authors, publishers, distributors or other rights holders. Listing or selling an eBook does not transfer ownership of its copyright to WriteWave or to the customer except to the extent expressly stated in a written licence.

2. Licence Granted to Customers

After a valid purchase, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and read the purchased eBook for personal, non-commercial use, subject to the product listing and these policies. You do not acquire ownership of the eBook or any intellectual-property rights in it.

3. Permitted Use

  • Read the purchased eBook on compatible personal devices supported by the file format or Service.
  • Keep a personal copy only where downloading is expressly enabled.
  • Quote limited portions for review, criticism, education or another use permitted by applicable law, with appropriate attribution where required.

4. Prohibited Use

Unless the relevant rights holder gives written permission, you must not:

  • Copy, reproduce, scan, republish, upload, transmit, share, lend, rent, sublicense, resell or distribute an eBook or substantial part of it.
  • Make purchased files available through email groups, messaging services, cloud folders, websites, torrents, file-sharing networks or public repositories.
  • Remove copyright notices, watermarks, metadata, access controls or digital-rights-management measures.
  • Modify, translate, adapt, create derivative works from, extract or commercially exploit content except where law expressly permits.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, harvest or systematically download Website content.
  • Use content to train, fine-tune or supply datasets to an artificial-intelligence or machine-learning system without express permission from the relevant rights holder.
  • Misrepresent authorship, ownership, endorsement or affiliation.

5. Previews, Metadata and Cover Images

Samples, summaries, metadata and cover images are provided to help customers evaluate products. They may be used only for browsing and purchase decisions. Their availability does not create a right to copy, republish or commercially use them.

6. Reviews and User-Submitted Content

If you submit a review, comment, image or other content, you confirm that you have the right to submit it and that it is not unlawful, defamatory, deceptive, confidential or infringing. You retain ownership of your original submission but grant WriteWave a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, moderate and display it for operating and promoting the Service. We may remove content that violates this Policy.

7. Copyright Complaints

If you believe material on the Website infringes your copyright, email business@writewaveco.com with the subject “Copyright Complaint” and include:

  • Your full name, organisation (if applicable), postal address, phone number and email address.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work and evidence that you own the rights or are authorised to act for the owner.
  • The exact URL and a clear description of the material complained of.
  • A statement explaining why the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law.
  • A statement that the information supplied is accurate and submitted in good faith.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

Incomplete notices may delay review. We may request additional documents, temporarily restrict access while investigating, forward the complaint to the relevant supplier or uploader, and restore content where a complaint is unsupported or resolved.

8. Response and Counter-Information

We aim to acknowledge a complete complaint promptly and handle it within the period required by applicable law. A person affected by removal may provide evidence of authorisation, ownership, licence or another lawful basis for the material. We will assess submissions fairly but cannot adjudicate complex ownership disputes; the parties may need to seek independent legal remedies.

9. Enforcement

Suspected infringement may result in removal or disabling of content, cancellation of access, Account suspension, preservation of relevant records, notification to rights holders or authorities, and legal action. Repeated or deliberate violations may result in permanent termination. These steps do not limit any other remedy available to us or a rights holder.

10. Good-Faith Catalogue Management

We seek to offer content supplied or authorised by legitimate rights holders. If a catalogue item is withdrawn because of a rights issue, we may remove it from sale and take reasonable steps concerning prior customer access, subject to law, contractual rights and technical feasibility.

11. No Waiver of Legal Exceptions

Nothing in this Policy is intended to restrict any exception, limitation or user right that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable copyright law.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect legal, licensing, catalogue or technical changes. The revised version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
